Oakwood broke a 1-1 tie with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday (April 15) to post a 7-2 triumph over Urbana in its opening baseball game of the season.
Koby Fletcher collected two of the Comets’ three hits. Brady Howard scored two runs and stole three bases.
Isaiah Ruch pitched five innings of four-hit ball, allowing no earned runs or walks while striking out six batters. Dalton Hobick and Josh Young each pitched one inning.
Oakwood (1-0) returns to action on Monday (April 19) at St. Joseph-Ogden.
