By FRED KRONER
The seventh-grade Oakwood girls’ basketball team split two games last week and, in the process, reached a season’s high for points scored in a game.
Oakwood topped Armstrong-Potomac, 30-11, on Monday (April 12) at home. Caydence Vermillion’s 11 points was the team’s top individual output of the year and the team total was one point better than its previous best. Gracie Hanner matched her season’s best with nine points.
On Wednesday (April 14), Oakwood lost at home to Gifford, 27-20. Vermillion and Brynlie Wait each scored eight points.
Oakwood (5-2) returns to action on Wednesday (April 21) in its season-finale at home against Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
