Heritage Volleyball finishes season with six-game win streak

The Hawks completed an incredible comeback during the second half of the volleyball season to achieve a .500 record in a year they started with an 0-6 record.
Heritage finished with a six-match winning streak, each of which was recorded in two-set sweeps.
The last two victories were posted at home. On Thursday (April 15), Heritage topped Oakwood 25-14, 25-16. On Tuesday (April 20) the Hawks completed their schedule by stopping Hoopeston Area 27-25, 25-10.
Heritage ends the season with a 7-7 record. During the month of April, the Hawks were 7-1, with the lone loss coming in three sets.
Against Oakwood, Bri Struck totaled 12 kills, one ace, one block and one dig. Mary Roland contributed 17 assists, four digs and one ace.
Kiley Knoll checked in with four kills and six digs. Torie Rothermel added two kills, four digs and two assists.
Anna Sanders had one kill, one ace, one block and five digs. Lily Ploense served three aces and finished with one dig.
Against Hoopeston, Struck pounded 10 kills to go with one ace, one block and four digs. Roland chipped in with 21 assists, six digs and two kills.
Knoll registered three kills, one ace and a team-best nine digs. Rothermel wound up with six kills, one block and two digs.
In her final high school match, Sanders posted four kills and five digs. Ploense ended with seven digs.
The other Heritage senior, besides Sanders, is Trinity Tatman, who had one dig.
