Montgomery, Nickle lead Heritage boys in conference meet

Eighth-grader Hunter Montgomery was a two-event winner for Heritage in the junior high boys’ track and field conference meet.
Montgomery captured top honors in the mile and the 800-meter dash.
In the 800, he beat teammate Robert Holloman, the runner-up, to the finish line. Holloman placed third in the mile.
Three Heritage seventh-graders placed among the top seven in at least one individual event at the conference meet.
Destin Nickle had the team’s top showing, earning a second-place finish as well as two third-place finishes and one fifth-place performance.
Nickle was the runner-up in the 100-meter dash. He placed third in both the 200 meters and the hurdles race. Nickle was fifth in the long jump.
Teammates Rylan White (fifth place) and Anthony Happ (seventh place) were among the leaders in the discus.
