Spartan softball picks up wins over Fisher and GCMS
Five players finished with two hits apiece on Monday (April 26) as the St. Joseph-Ogden softball team took a 5-2 win at Fisher.
The SJ-O hitting leaders were Kennedy Hudson, Shayne Immke, Peyton Jones, Kelsey Martlage and Audrey Short
Hudson also drove in two runs.
Maggie Ward earned the pitching win to improve her record to 3-0.
On Tuesday (April 27), SJ-O reached a season’s high for runs scored, rolling up a 15-3 victory at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
Kaylee Ward blasted a grand slam home run and Alyssa Acton and Immke each added back-to-back solo homers in the seventh inning.
Immke and Jones finished with four-hit performances. Acton, Ward and Addy Martinie contributed two hits apiece.
Sophia Martlage earned the pitching win.
SJ-O (6-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 29) at Mahomet-Seymour.
