Oakwood Baseball splits doubleheader at LeRoy

The Comets split a baseball doubleheader on Saturday (May 1) at LeRoy, capturing an 11-7 first-game win in eight innings before suffering a 16-1 four-inning loss in the nightcap.
Isaiah Ruch and Dalton Hobick smashed home runs in the first game. Ruch, Koby Fletcher and Dylan Bensyl all socked two hits in the opener.
Ruch drove in three runs and Griffin Trees stole three bases.
Travis Tiernan pitched the final two innings and notched the win.
Oakwood was limited to two hits in the second game, singles by Fletcher and Jacob Spears. Fletcher knocked in Grant Powell with the team’s lone run.
The Comets (3-4) return to action on Wednesday (May 5) at home against Westville.
