Howard pitches shutout against Arcola

Carson Howard hit a home run and pitched a two-hit shutout on Wednesday (May 5) as the Hawks won their second consecutive game by a 15-0 score, making short work of Arcola in a four-inning baseball game at home.
VG/Heritage was a terror on the basepaths, stealing 20 bases in 21 attempts. Mason Wyant swiped four bases. Nick Coffin, Ryan Cheatham and Noah Davison all had three stolen bases.
Howard collected four RBI, Cheatham had three hits and Dylan Ploense scored three runs. Cheatham and Sam Bender each finished with two RBI.
In his pitching stint, Howard fanned seven batters and issued one walk.
Villa Grove/Heritage (5-1) returns to action on Thursday (May 6) at home against Tri-County.
