Oakwood suffers three loses

Junior Savannah Nevitt had two of Oakwood’s four hits on Monday (May 10) in a 14-2 softball loss at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
On Tuesday (May 11), seniors Tiffany Paris and Alaina Rothwell socked home runs for the Comets, who fell short in a 15-14 loss at home to Champaign Central. Rothwell’s homer was a grand slam to highlight a five-run sixth inning.
Audrey Schnaus and Ashlynn Pinnick finished with three hits apiece for Oakwood. Teammates with two hits were Nevitt, Rothwell, Alyssa McCoy and Karsen Rupp.
Rupp took the pitching loss. She walked one and struck out four batters.
On Wednesday (May 12), Paris hit a home run for the second day in a row and Nevitt also blasted a round-tripper in an 18-3 loss at home to Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
The Comets’ other hits were by Rothwell and Rupp.
Rupp pitched four innings and recorded three strikeouts.
Oakwood (3-6) returns to action on Tuesday (May 18) at Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
