Oakwood wrestling successful at home

Oakwood/Salt Fork opened the home portion of its wrestling season by winning two dual meets on Monday (May 10).
Oakwood edged Clifton Central 40-39 in a pulsating first match and then upended St. Joseph-Ogden 60-18.
Against Clifton Central, Oakwood/SF led 40-21 with three bouts remaining.
Comets who were 2-0 for the night were Gage Reed (120 pounds), Reef Pacot (126 pounds), Bryson Capansky (132 pounds), Connor Hutson (145 and 152 pounds), Ben Jessup (160 pounds) and Joe Lashuay (170 and 182 pounds).
Capansky and Lashuay won both of their matches by pin, including first-period falls against SJ-O.
For the season, Reed (senior), Pacot (sophomore) and Capansky (freshman) are all unbeaten.
Oakwood/Salt Fork (6-1) returns to action on Thursday (May 13) at Westville in a meet that also includes Hoopeston Area.
