Spartan softball on seven-game win streak

Shayne Immke and Maggie Ward delivered three hits apiece on Monday (May 10) as St. Joseph-Ogden decisioned visiting Rantoul 17-10 in an Illini Prairie Conference softball game.
Ward drove in four runs in addition to earning the pitching win. Alyssa Acton had two hits.
On Tuesday (May 11), Sophia Martlage (4-2) pitched a complete-game seven-hitter as the Spartans topped Bloomington Central Catholic, 5-2, in St. Joseph.
Immke and Kaylee Ward blasted home runs and Acton contributed two hits.
On Wednesday (May 12), Immke knocked the first pitch of the game out of the park for her sixth home run of the spring and SJ-O went on to overpower Paxton-Buckley-Loda 13-3 in Paxton.
The Spartans have scored in double figures in 11 of their games this spring.
Immke totaled three hits – including a triple – and stole three bases. Acton also belted a home run, her fifth.
Kaylee Ward, Martlage and Acton all delivered two hits for the Spartans.
Maggie Ward pitched a complete game, walking no one and striking out eight.
SJ-O (17-5) returns to action on Thursday (May 13) at Bloomington Central Catholic. The Spartans have a seven-game winning streak and have captured wins in 10 of their last 11 games.
