The Hawks spotted visiting Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin an 11-run lead before starting a comeback that fell short on Friday (May 14) in a 12-8 non-conference baseball loss.
Ryan Cheatham clubbed two doubles and a home run to lead the VG/Heritage offense. Cheatham scored three runs. Noah Davison went 2-for-4.
B-H/R-A scored eight runs before the Hawks had a chance to bat. Dylan Ploense pitched three innings of two-hit, scoreless relief for VG/Heritage.
VG/Heritage (6-6) returns to action on Monday (May 17) at home against Okaw Valley.
