Oakwood baseball rallies to defeat Mahomet-Seymour

The Comets broke a 4-4 tie with a two-run fifth-inning and went on to a 9-6 conquest over Mahomet-Seymour on Thursday (May 13) in a non-conference baseball game at home.
Josh Young and Matthew Miller collected two hits apiece for Oakwood. Miller and Travis Tiernan both drove in two runs.
Young, Dalton Hobick and Koby Fletcher scored two runs apiece.
Hobick pitched the first five innings to earn his first win of the season. He walked one and struck out three. Grant Powell worked the final two innings and struck out one.
On Friday (May 14), Isaiah Ruch delivered two hits and drove in a run, but the Comets took a 7-3 loss at Champaign Central.
Oakwood (8-6) returns to action on Tuesday (May 18) at Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
