The Spartans rallied from deficits of 18-0 and 24-12 to edge Stanford Olympia 30-24 in a wrestling dual meet at home on Tuesday (May 25).
A pin at 220 pounds by Owen Birt essentially clinched the win for SJ-O. Birt’s fall in 3:13 created a 24-24 tie, but Olympia didn’t have an entry at 285 pounds, so a forfeit win for SJ-O’s Kyle Meccoli proved the difference.
SJ-O (5-6) returns to action on Thursday (May 27) at home against Argenta-Oreana and Westville.
