Villa Grove softball picks up three wins

Kaylee Arbuckle and Emma Bratten-Noice each belted three hits on Monday (May 24) as the Blue Devils won a softball game at Arcola, 6-4.
Bratten-Noice wound up with a single, double and home run. She drove in three runs.
Alexandria Brown pitched all seven innings. She walked one and struck out three. Brown delivered two hits. Chloe Reardon drove in two runs.
On Tuesday (May 25), Kyleigh Block struck out a season-high 17 batters in a 6-1 win at home over Oakwood.
Maci Clodfelder whacked a double and a home run and drove in four runs. Allison Pangburn and Vanessa Wright each totaled two hits.
Block scored two runs. On the way to her third successive pitching win, Block walked no one and scattered four singles.
On Wednesday (May 26), Bratten-Noice pitched a complete-game, five-inning four-hitter to earn her first varsity win as the Blue Devils swamped Tri-County 21-2.
Bratten-Noice struck out five and walked no one.
She was backed by a 15-hit attack that featured eight Villa Grove extra-base hits. Pangburn socked three triples and collected five RBI to go with four runs scored. Clodfelder homered for the second game in a row and delivered four RBI for the second consecutive game.
Wright scored three runs and added two doubles. Brown and Bratten-Noice contributed two hits apiece. Kayla Cordes scored three runs. Chloe Reardon, Brown, Bratten-Noice and Clodfelder crossed home plate twice.
Villa Grove (11-12) returns to action on Thursday (May 27), weather permitting, at home against Argenta-Oreana. The Blue Devils have won five of their last six games.
