The junior high Homer Heritage Hawks baseball team dropped a narrow 9-8 decision at Armstrong-Potomac on Tuesday (Aug. 17).
Destin Nickle and Anthony Happ stroked three hits apiece for Heritage. They each had an extra-base hit and knocked in three runs.

Happ took the pitching loss, despite striking out six batters and walking no one in his four-inning stint.
The team’s first two games were played at home and resulted in a 22-5 loss to Bismarck-Henning on Saturday (Aug. 14) and a 12-0 setback to Prairieview Ogden on Monday (Aug. 16).
Nickle’s double was the team’s lone hit against PVO.
Against B-H, Happ scored two runs and teammate Alex Bensal drove in two runs.
The Hawks used five pitchers in the game, each throwing one inning.
Heritage (0-3) returns to action on Thursday (Aug 19) at Homer against Danville Schlarman Academy.
