Bensal, Nickle, White and Happ lead Heritage in last three games

For the second time in the last three games, the Heritage Junior High baseball Hawks dropped a 9-8 decision on a walkoff hit.
Oakwood scored six unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on Monday (Aug. 23) to edge the Hawks, 9-8.
Alex Bensal and Destin Nickle each drilled two hits for Heritage. Nickle stole three bases. Bensal and Rylan White both had two RBI. Nickle and Anthony Happ each scored two runs.
Happ, the Hawks’ starting pitcher, struck out six batters in 4 2/3 innings.
On Tuesday (Aug. 24), Heritage suffered a 24-2 loss at Homer to Gifford.
Nickle doubled and scored and White singled and scored in the third inning.
Bensal had the team’s third hit in the game.
Sixteen of the runs Gifford scored were unearned.
On Thursday (Aug. 19), Kalyn Miller drew walks in the second and fourth innings and scored runs for Heritage, which suffered an 18-2 baseball loss at home to Schlarman Academy.
The Hawks were limited to two hits, singles by Happ and White. Happ had one RBI.
White pitched 2 2/3 innings and walked no one while striking out three batters.
Heritage (0-6) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 26) at Salt Fork.
