Burnett helps Spartans defeat Decatur St. Theresa with triple-double

Senior Kenndi Burnett registered the first triple-double by a St. Joseph-Ogden volleyball player this season on Monday (Aug. 30), helping the Spartans to a three-set win at Decatur St. Teresa.
Burnett pounded 15 kills to go with 10 digs and 10 service aces as SJ-O topped the Bulldogs 25-16, 20-25, 25-20.
Becca Steinbach collected a double-double with 30 assists and 12 digs.
Hannah Fox totaled 13 digs.
Addie Roesch added eight kills and Shayne Immke had seven kills. Roesch had 11 digs and two aces while Immke contributed two digs.
On Tuesday (Aug. 31), Burnett produced 10 service aces, eight digs and seven kills as the unbeaten Spartans opened the home portion of its schedule with a two-set sweep over Cissna Park, 25-8, 25-16.
Steinbach contributed 12 assists and six digs.
SJ-O (4-0) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 2) at home against Teutopolis.
