Jones finishes third at Cowchip Classic

Two boys and two girls from Heritage Junior High School competed individually in the Chrisman Cowchip Chip cross-country invitational on Friday (Sept. 3).
There were separate races for each gender for students in eighth-, seventh- and sixth-grade.
Heritage eighth-grader Kiara Jones ran third out of 76 competitors in her age-group race. Her 2-mile time was 12 minutes, 50.3 seconds.
In the girls’ sixth-grade division, Heritage’s Leah del Rossi was 32nd in a 66-runner field. Her time was 16:40.8.
Both of the Heritage boys’ competitors were in the seventh-grade race.
Clark Roland placed 13th in a field of 81 competitors. His 2-mile time was 13:19.1. Teammate Clayton Thomas finished in 45th place in 15:09.6.
Heritage will return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 14) at Catlin.
