Greer leads Spartans over Blue Ridge

Junior Jackson Greer scored two goals and had one assist on Friday (Sept. 17) as the St. Joseph-Ogden soccer team edged Blue Ridge at home, 4-3.
Greer’s first goal accounted for the only scoring in the first half.
Aiden Cromwell netted a goal and teammate Brennan Haake also scored for the Spartans, on a penalty kick. Will Page had one assist.
Goalkeeper Hunter Ketchum finished with five saves.
On Saturday (Sept. 18), the Spartans suffered a 1-0 loss at Chillicothe IVC. The schools were tied, 0-0, at halftime.
It was SJ-O’s second 1-0 loss of the season and third one-goal setback.
Ketchum stopped 10 shots.
SJ-O (7-6-1) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 21) at home against Tolono Unity.
