Spartans end Senior Night with win over Georgetown-Ridge Farm

The Spartans played their fourth 1-0 soccer match of the season on Thursday (Sept. 23) and came out on the winning end when sophomore Spencer Wilson netted a second-half goal.
His game-winning shot followed an assist by senior Jared Emmert.
Hunter Ketchum totaled six saves.
The Spartans are 2-2 in 1-0 games this season. SJ-O has won three of its matches by shutout.
On Saturday (Sept. 25), St. Joseph-Ogden rallied to defeat Georgetown-Ridge Farm 2-1 in a Senior Night soccer match at home.
After a scoreless first half, the visiting Buffaloes scored first, before two SJ-O seniors went into action.
Emmert scored the tying goal, with an assist from Brennan Haake.
“Brennan Haake placed a flip throw into the box and Jared Emmert volleyed it in,” Spartans coach Bill DeJarnette said.
Spencer Wilson netted the game-winning goal.
Hunter Ketchum had nine saves in goal.
SJ-O (10-6-1) returns to action on Monday (Sept. 27) at Champaign Judah Christian.
