Neither of St. Joseph-Ogden’s sectional golf qualifiers were able to qualify for state on Monday (Oct. 4) in the IHSA Class 1A boys’ sectional tournament at Balmoral Woods Country Club, in Beecher.
Jacob Kern fired a 96 and placed 70th in a field with 111 competitors. Teammate McGwire Atwood shot a 102 and placed 85th.
Kern recorded the Spartans’ best score in 11 of 13 meets this season. He also had the best SJ-O nine-hole stroke average, 42.9.
