Villa Grove JH cross country season comes to end

The cross-country season for Villa Grove Junior High ended on Saturday (Oct. 9) at the Class 1A IESA St. Thomas More Sectional.
The school had three girls who participated.
Lilly-Lynn Davis was 34th in a 58-runner field. Her 2-mile time was 17 minutes and 31 seconds.
Teaghan Henderson was 44th in 20:19 and Lyndsay Zoch placed 46th in 20:39.
On the boys’ side, Villa Grove finished in 12th place with 286 points. The top three schools advanced to state, led by Champaign St. Matthew (73) and Notre Dame DeLaSalette (77).
Nolan Shadwick was the top Villa Grove runner. He wound up in 49th place with a 2-mile time of 14 minutes and 20 seconds.
Teammates following him were: Logan Hauersperger (55th in 14:28.6), R.J. Mitsdarfer (67th in 15:58), Bailey Keith (75th in 17:15), Miles Swigart (76th in 17:17); Max Kneer (77th in 17:20) and Ethan Vail (80th in 17:40).
There were 95 competitors in the field.
