Spartan Volleyball wins Mount Pulaski Topper Classic

Sophomore Addie Roesch delivered seven kills on Thursday (Oct. 21) as the St. Joseph-Ogden volleyball team bounced Bloomington Central Catholic, 25-18, 25-10 in Bloomington.
Roesch also had three digs and one service ace as SJ-O won its eighth consecutive match.
Kennedi Burnett contributed six kills, nine digs and five aces while Rachel Divan chipped in with four kills and three blocks.
Becca Steinbach spread 20 assists out to her hitters.
On Saturday (Oct. 23), SJ-O won the Mount Pulaski Topper Classic, beating four foes: Elmhurst Immaculate Conception, 25-8, 25-9, Shelbyville, 25-11, 25-20, Stewardson-Strasburg, 25-19, 25-19 and Mount Pulaski, 25-19, 25-20.
SJ-O (25-4) returns to action in the Class 2A IHSA quarterfinals on Tuesday (Oct. 26) in the semifinals of its own IHSA regional tournament. The Spartans will face either Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin or Oakwood, schools which play one another on Monday (Oct. 25) in the quarterfinals.
For the season, SJ-O has defeated 21 opponents in two-set sweeps.
