Oakwood soccer receives All-Conference honors

Four Oakwood/Salt Fork soccer standouts earned first-team status on both the all-Vermilion Valley Conference team as well as the all-Vermilion County all-star team.
The honored Comets were senior Joe Lashuay and juniors Reef Pacot, Grant Powell and Joshua Ruch.
Sophomore Brody Taflinger was a special mention choice on both the all-conference and all-county teams.
Junior Zane Trimmell also earned two-way recognition. He was a special mention selection on the all-county team and an honorable mention pick for the all-conference team.
One additional squad member received recognition. Senior Carlie Thompson was an honorable mention choice for the all-county team.
Powell (29 goals) and Pacot (14 goals) were the top two scorers on an 18-8 Oakwood/Salt Fork squad. Powell (20 assists), Pacot (16 assists), Taflinger (eight assists) and Lashuay (seven assists) were consistent offensive contributors.
Ruch was the goalkeeper who was responsible for 10 shutouts.
