After dropping its first two games of the season, the Oakwood girls’ basketball team opened play in its own Comet Classic with a decisive victory on Saturday (Nov. 20).
The Comets handled Martinsville, 45-19, to start play in the tournament.
Jaydah Arrowsmith registered a team-high 13 points. Addie Wright followed with 11 points and Ashlynn Pinnick tallied eight points. Kalie Tison chipped in with six points.
On Thursday (Nov. 18), Oakwood dropped a 44-37 decision at home to St. Thomas More.
Pinnick and Wright each dropped 15 points. Arrowsmith added four points.
Oakwood (1-2) returns to action on Monday (Nov. 22) against Casey-Westfield – which will be playing its first tournament game – in the 7 p.m. contest.
