Prairieview Ogden’s seventh-grade girls’ basketball team started postseason play on Monday (Nov. 22) with a 22-16 overtime conquest of second-seeded DeLand-Weldon in a Class 1A IESA regional semifinal contest at Champaign Holy Cross.
Greta Goldenstein knocked down a season-high 10 points and Emerson Williams matched her season-high with eight points.
The Mustangs continued their tournament run on Tuesday (Nov. 23) by upending top-seeded Champaign Next Generation 19-17 in the championship game. PVO trailed 15-8 at halftime.
Atleigh Miller hit a team-high eight points followed by Goldenstein with five points.
The win was the third in a row for PVO (7-11), which will play in the sectional on Wednesday (Dec. 1) against Danville Schlarman Academy (16-0).
