Ashlyn Lannert and Peyton Jones each hit their season’s high for points scored on Thursday (Dec. 2), leading St. Joseph-Ogden to a 52-41 girls’ basketball victory in Danville.
Lannert dropped 17 points and Jones ended with 16 points. Lannert also nailed a season-high four three-pointers.
Ella Armstrong added seven points and Taylor Wells six for the Spartans, who led 21-11 after one quarter.
On Saturday (Dec. 4) at Oakwood, SJ-O reeled off 28 first-quarter points and went on to a 65-25 conquest over the Comets.
Lannert hit all nine of her points in the opening frame. Payton Jacob had eight first-quarter points, Wells had all six of her points in the opening stanza and Armstrong added five first-period points.
Armstrong hit a game-high 13 points. Jacob ended with 10 points. Alyssa Hamilton finished with eight points. Contributing six points apiece were Addison Frick and Peyton Williams.
The Spartans led, 40-14, at halftime. SJ-O nailed 9 of 12 free throws, including 3 of 3 by Armstrong.
SJ-O (6-1) returns to action on Monday (Nov. 6) at Mahomet-Seymour (7-0).
