Hawks defeat Hoopston Area at home
Clark Roland drilled a team-high eight points as the Heritage seventh-grade boys’ basketball team overcame a 7-2 first-quarter deficit on Thursday (Dec. 2) to win at home over Hoopeston Area, 28-25.
Brayden Jones netted seven points and Cameron Johnson added five points.
On Monday (Dec. 6), the seventh-graders took a 36-2 loss at Bismarck-Henning. James Dillon’s second-quarter basket accounted for the only Heritage points.
The seventh-graders are 3-6 after snapping a four-game losing streak.
In the eighth-grade game against Hoopeston, Rylan White (18 points) and Destin Nickle (15 points) combined for 33 of their team’s points in a 38-35 setback at home against Hoopeston Area on Thursday (Dec. 2).
Brenley Sands added two points for Heritage.
On Monday (Dec. 6), the eighth-graders lost a 35-18 decision at Bismarck-Henning.
Nickle netted a team-high nine points. White had seven and Eli Denmark-Collin scored the other two points.
The eighth-graders are 2-7 and return to action on Wednesday (Dec. 8) at home against Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
