PV-O boys’ basketball earn two wins

Both the seventh- and eighth-grade boys’ basketball teams from Prairieview Ogden earned wins in their last two games.
The eighth-graders triumphed at Potomac, Thursday (Dec. 2), 53-23, and followed up with a 51-14 victory on Monday (Dec. 6) at Champaign St. Matthew.
Kodey McKinney was one of three double-figure scorers for the Mustangs at Potomac. He hit a game-high 20 points. Coy Hayes tallied 16 points, Parker Fitch had 10, Vance McComas three, Ethan Sanders two and Dalton York two.
Against St. Matthew, Hayes and McKinney set the pace with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Graham Ray netted nine points, Fitch, McComas and Kaden Wedig each contributed five points and John Couture ended with four points.
The seventh-graders also registered a pair of double-digit wins, topping Potomac, 45-25, and St. Matthew, 41-27.
Garrett Loschen tossed in 12 points at Potomac and was backed by Couture with 11 and Dalton York with 10. Other scoring contributors were Alex Vaughn (eight), Adam Marschke (two) and Mason Ramm (two).
At St. Matthew, Couture’s 12 points led the team. Loschen finished with 10 points, Wedig notched nine points and York totaled five. Vaughn had three points and Jaxson LaBounty scored two points.
The PVO teams return to action on Thursday (Dec. 9) at home against Rossville.
