Six Oakwood/Salt Fork wrestlers won both of their matches on Saturday at Vandalia.
As a team, the Comets dispatched LeRoy 44-27, but fell to Vandalia, 46-29.
Going undefeated for the day were Comets Carter Chambliss (120 pounds), Pedro Rangel (126 pounds), Reef Pacot (132 pounds), Joe Lashuay (160 and 170 pounds), Doug Myers (195 pounds) and Jamison VanVickle (285 pounds).
Lashuay and Myers pinned both of their foes. Pacot and VanVickle had one pin apiece.
Teammates who won non-forfeited matches were Bryson Capansky (1-1 at 138 pounds) and Grant Brewer (1-1 at 152 pounds).
Oakwood/Salt Fork returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 14) at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley. The Comets were ranked 18th in the latest IWCOA Class 1A state poll.
Individually, two squad members were rated among the top four in their respective weight classes: (Pacot third at 132 and Lashuay first at 160).
