Hobick’s 18 helps put Comets ahead of BHRA

Junior Dalton Hobick hit a game-high 18 points on Monday – including 6-of-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter – as the Oakwood boys’ basketball team held off visiting Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin in its Vermilion Valley Conference opener, 40-35.
Oakwood vaulted into a 12-4 lead after one period. All five of the team’s baskets in the quarter were by different players.
Seconding Hobick in scoring was Josh Young, with 11 points. Grant Powell netted five points, Gaven Clouse made four points and Griffin Trees added two points.
Oakwood (10-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Dec. 21) at home against Armstrong-Potomac.
