Hobick leads Comets past Armstrong-Potomac

Junior Dalton Hobick poured in a game-high 32 points on Tuesday (Dec. 21), leading Oakwood past visiting Armstrong-Potomac 72-35 in a Vermilion Valley Conference boys’ basketball game in Fithian.
Hobick drained four three-point shots and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line. In his last two games, he has hit 10 consecutive free throws.
Tanner Pichon tallied a season-high 15 points for the Comets. Grant Powell and Josh Young each made eight points.
Oakwood expanded an 11-8 lead after one period into a 35-18 margin at halftime. Pichon drilled 13 of his points in the second quarter and Hobick added 10 during the same span.
The Comets are 11-2 overall and 2-0 in the VVC. Oakwood will return to action on Monday (Dec. 27) in the Monticello Hoopla Tournament. Oakwood will take on Tuscola in the 2 p.m. game.
