St. Joseph-Ogden rallies for non-conference win

Ashlyn Lannert scored five fourth-quarter points and Addison Frick drained 4-of-4 free throws down the stretch on Monday (Dec. 20) as the St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball team rallied for a 58-53 non-conference win over visiting Champaign Central.
Central carried a 43-39 lead into the final eight minutes.
Ella Armstrong scored a team-high 13 points for SJ-O. Taylor Wells had 10 points, including four in the pivotal fourth stanza. Frick hit a season-high 10 points. Lannert contributed eight points and Peyton Jones chipped in with seven points.
SJ-O (8-3) returns to action on Monday (Dec. 27) in the State Farm Holiday Classic, in Bloomington and Normal. The Spartans are seeded fourth and face 13th-seeded Normal University High at 1:30 p.m. at Normal Community High School.
