Spartans pick up Illini Prairie Conference win

Two players scored in double figures for St. Joseph-Ogden and the Spartans’ defense limited Pontiac to one second-half field goal on Thursday (Jan. 6) as SJ-O won an Illini Prairie Conference girls’ basketball game in Pontiac, 57-23.

Taylor Wells topped all Spartans with 14 points. Ella Armstrong notched 11 points. Payton Jacob had nine points and Ashlyn Lannert had eight points. Contributing six points apiece were Alyssa Hamilton and Peyton Jones. Addison Frick added two points.

SJ-O (11-5) will take a three-game winning streak into a Monday (Jan. 10) home game against Prairie Central.
