Spartans jump out early to defeat Monticello

Ashlyn Lannert sparked St. Joseph-Ogden to its fifth straight double-figure win in Illini Prairie Conference action on Thursday (Jan. 20), a 50-29 win at home over Monticello.

Lannert tallied a team-high 16 points.

SJ-O jumped into a 6-2 lead after one quarter and increased its lead with a 21-point third quarter.

Ella Armstrong hit 11 points and Peyton Jones notched 10 points. Finishing with five points apiece were Payton Jacob and Taylor Wells.

SJ-O (15-6 and 5-0 in the IPC) returns to action on Monday (Jan. 24) at Stanford Olympia.
