Spartans rally for Illini Prairie Conference win

Ty Pence and Logan Smith each delivered 14 points on Tuesday (Jan. 25) as the St. Joseph-Ogden boys’ basketball rallied for a 45-43 Illini Prairie Conference boys’ basketball win at home over St. Thomas More.

STM took the lead, 18-16, in the final minute of the first half and didn’t relinquish it until Pence converted a three-point play with :04 left in the game to salvage the win.

Coy Taylor added nine points and Andrew Beyers chipped in with five points.

Pence hauled down seven rebounds. Taylor handed out four assists.

SJ-O (16-4 overall and 3-1 in Illini Prairie Conference games) returns to action on Friday (Jan. 28) at Monticello (20-3).
