Oakwood avenged a recent loss to Westville in the Vermilion Valley Tournament and stayed unbeaten in the Vermilion Valley Conference with a 60-49 conquest on Tuesday (Feb. 1) on the Tigers’ court.
Josh Young hit a game-high 22 points, including seven in the fourth period when the Comets extended a 44-39 lead into the final 11-point margin.
Dalton Hobick scored 16 points and Grant Powell swished eight points.
Oakwood led, 11-9, after one quarter and 29-18 at halftime.
The Comets (20-6) are 8-0 in the Vermilion Valley Conference. Oakwood returns to action on Friday (Feb. 4) at home against Iroquois West.
