Salt Fork drains free throws to overcome Oakwood

Oakwood dropped a 47-40 Vermilion Valley Conference decision at home to Salt Fork on Saturday (Feb. 5) in a girls’ basketball game where free throws were instrumental in the outcome.
The teams were tied, 29-29, after three quarters. They were deadlocked at halftime, 14-14.
Salt Fork drained 10-of-12 fourth-quarter free throws and 14-of-18 for the game. Oakwood was 3-for-7 from the line in the final quarter and 8-for-23 overall.
Addie Wright hit a team-high 16 points for the Comets. Karsen Rupp scored 10 points and Ashlynn Pinnick contributed nine points.
Oakwood (13-16) returns to action on Monday (Feb. 7) at Danville Schlarman Academy.
