Ashlynn Pinnick netted 17 points on Monday (Feb. 7) as the Oakwood girls’ basketball team closed the regular season with a 57-5 victory at Danville Schlarman Academy.
Addie Wright hit 13 points, Jaydah Arrowmith scored 10 points and Cherokee Hanner added six points.
The Comets led, 23-0, after one quarter and 36-2 at intermission.
Oakwood (14-16) has won nine of its last 12 games entering Class 2A regional tournament play. The Comets are the No. 2 seed in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Regional and play in the semifinals on Monday (Feb. 14) against the winner of a contest between Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin and Westville.
