Salt Fork wins close match with Oakwood

Oakwood’s boys’ basketball team staged a massive comeback on Tuesday (Feb. 8), but fell short, in overtime, at home to Salt Fork, 46-44.
Salt Fork stormed into a 27-15 lead at halftime, but the Comets pulled ahead, 35-34, after three quarters.
Dalton Hobick drained three third-quarter three-pointers to account for nine of his 12 points. Grant Powell also tallied 12 points and Griffin Trees contributed 10 points.
The Comets were hurt by 4-of-10 accuracy overall from the free throw line, including 1-of-4 in overtime.
Oakwood (21-7) suffered its first loss in Vermilion Valley Conference play and has a 9-1 league mark entering the Friday (Feb. 11) conference finale at Schlarman Academy.
