In its Senior Night game on Friday (Feb. 18), St. Joseph-Ogden rallied late to turn back Eureka, 46-43, in a non-conference boys’ basketball game.
Ty Pence led the way with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Evan Ingram returned from an ankle sprain to add 12 points and five rebounds.
Ingram was successful on all four of the free throws the Spartans attempted.
Andrew Beyers contributed eight rebounds and four assists.
SJ-O led, 16-11, after one quarter, but the schools were tied at halftime, 26-26. Eureka carried a 35-32 lead into the final stanza.
The Spartans’ seniors are Beyers, Hayden Brazelton, Ingram and Nolan Grindley.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for SJ-O (21-9), which will return to action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Tolono Unity in a semifinal game of a Class 2A regional against Oakwood (24-7).
When the teams played in December, the Spartans prevailed, 62-57.
