Four Comets recognized with VCC honors

Oakwood junior Addie Wright was selected to the first team of both the Vermilion Valley Conference and the Vermilion County all-star girls’ basketball teams.
Senior teammate Ashlynn Pinnick was a first-team all-County pick, but was a special mention choice for the all-conference team.
Two other Comets were also recognized.
Sophomore Jaydah Arrowsmith was chosen for the honorable mention all-County team while senior Karsen Rupp earned honorable mention accolades for the all-conference team.
Oakwood finished the season with a 15-17 overall record.
Wright posted nine 20-point games during the season and led the Comets in scoring (14.3 average). She also led the team in rebounding (9.3 average) and blocks (1.6 average).
Pinnick scored in double figures in 18 games and averaged 10.7 points per game. She led the team in assists (2.0 average).
Rupp compiled an 8.0 scoring average and Arrowsmith averaged 5.4 points per game. Arrowsmith led the team in steals (3.2 average).
