Pence receives Illini Prairie All-Conference honors
By Fred Kroner
St. Joseph-Ogden junior Ty Pence was one of four players who were unanimous selections to the Illini Prairie all-conference boys’ basketball team.
Pence was joined on the seven-player first team by three other unanimous picks: sophomore Cole Certa, from Bloomington Central Catholic, senior Ben Cresap, from Monticello, and junior Dylan Bazzell, from Prairie Central.
In addition to the first team, the IPC coaches picked a six-player second team and an eight-player honorable mention grouping.
Pence was the lone SJ-O representative. He scored 756 points and averaged 22.9 points per game for the 23-10 regional championship Spartans.
