Spartans open season with win over Armstrong-Potomac

Avian Gerdes allowed one run in five innings and St. Joseph-Ogden baseball teammates Adam Price and Griffin Roesch each drove in four runs on Tuesday (March 15) as the Spartans opened the season with a 14-2 win at Armstrong-Potomac.
Gerdes walked one and struck out two before yielding to Roesch, who pitched the final inning and fanned two batters.
Price produced three hits and Roesch knocked two hits in the opener. Price’s hits included a double and Roesch’s hits included a triple.
Hayden Brazelton drove in three runs and stole two bases.
SJ-O (1-0) returns to action on Thursday (March 17) in a tournament at Edwardsville.
