Travis Tiernan pitched a seven-inning, complete-game shutout, allowing only one hit, as Oakwood blanked Casey-Westfield, 3-0, on Thursday (March 17) in a non-conference baseball game.
Tiernan walked one and struck out 12. He was backed by a defense which didn’t commit an error.
The Comets were held to three hits, one each by Matthew Miller, Dalton Hobick and Griffin Trees.
Trees and Hobick each contributed RBIs. Hobick, Joshua Ruch and Lucas Huchel all scored runs.
Oakwood (2-1) returns to action on Monday (March 21) at Tolono Unity.
