Villa Grove’s baseball team was held scoreless for the first time this season on Tuesday (March 29) and dropped a 14-0 decision at Westville.
The Blue Devils were limited to four hits, singles by Jake Gilles, Gavin Kiser, Peyton Smith and Luke Zimmerman.
Sam Bender pitched two innings and took the loss. He struck out two batters. He was followed to the mound by Cooper Clark and Parker Knierim, who struck out two batters in two-thirds of an inning.
Villa Grove (1-4) returns to action on Friday (April 1) at home against Casey-Westfield.
