Wildcats rally to hand Spartan softball a loss

Shayne Immke slugged the second pitch of the game for a home run to provide St. Joseph-Ogden’s softball team with an early lead on Monday (March 28) at Normal West, but the Wildcats rallied to deal the Spartans an 11-6 loss.
The teams were tied, 3-3, entering the bottom of the fourth inning. SJ-O outhit Normal West, 15-14.
Immke went 2-for-3 and also walked once. Alyssa Acton and Peyton Jones were both 3-for-4. Addison Frick was 2-for-2 and walked once.
Also totaling two hits for SJ-O were Addison Frick and Kennedy Hudson. Acton and Immke each registered two RBI.
Maggie Ward pitched a complete game for SJ-O. She struck out five and walked three.
The Spartans (2-1) return to action on March 31 at home against St. Thomas More.
