Alex Brown fanned seven batters in seven innings on Monday (April 4) and was backed by a 19-hit attack as Villa Grove handled Toledo Cumberland 10-6 in a softball game at home.
Alison Pangburn pounded four hits for the Blue Devils. Contributing three hits each were Kaylee Arbuckle, Emma Bratten-Noice, Madison Hinds and Chloe Reardon.
Hinds also drew a walk and reached base all four times that she batted. Arbuckle, Maci Clodfelder (who belted two doubles) and Hinds each scored two runs.
Arbuckle, Pangburn and Addie Wilson all drove in two runs.
Villa Grove (7-8) returns to action on Friday (April 8) at home against Arcola.
