Oakwood girls place fourth at Salt Fork Track and Field Invitational

Oakwood’s Allie Morris placed in two individual events and helped one relay to a fourth-place finish on Thursday (April 7) in the third-annual girls’ Salt Fork Track and Field Invitational.
Morris finished third in the 1,600 meters (5 minutes, 52.24 seconds) and seventh in the 3,200 meters (15:11.63).
Morris joined Gwen Cambron, Nikita Taylor and Alyssa Wells on the 1,600-meter relay, which was timed in 5:13.30.
Taylor ended sixth in the long jump (4.18 meters or 13 feet, 7 inches).
Taylor was also on two relays which fared well.
The Comets’ 800-meter relay ran second in 2:07.70. Joining Nikita Taylor were Taylor Smoot, Luci Morris and Cambron.
The school’s 400-meter relay of Smoot, Luci Morris, Taylor and Aubri Elliott finished fourth in 59.08 seconds.
Oakwood took 11th in the 13-team field with 25 points. Meet champion Urbana University High totaled 104 points.
Oakwood returns to action on Tuesday (April 12) in a meet at Salt Fork.
