Maci Clodfelder homered in consecutive games, but Villa Grove’s softball team split two games to end the week.
On Thursday (April 14), Clodfelder had a home run and two RBI in a 5-2 loss at home to Sullivan. Her homer was a two-run clout in the sixth inning that also drove in Alison Pangburn.
Alex Brown and Emma Bratten-Noice produced the Blue Devils’ other hits. Brown struck out two in four innings and absorbed the loss. Bratten-Noice fanned five batters in three innings.
On Friday (April 15), Clodfelder had a home run and four RBI in a 12-4 win at Blue Ridge.
Pangburn was 4-for-5 and scored five runs. She slapped a home run and knocked in three runs. Chloe Reardon collected two hits and scored three runs. Addie Wilson also had two hits. Olivia Jones tallied two runs.
Brown pitched all seven innings, walking one and striking out five to improve her record to 6-5.
Villa Grove (9-10) returns to action on Monday (April 18) at Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
